Our Fostering Legal Excellence (FLEX) program focuses on creating structured pathways for high school students to confidently enter pre law universities and the legal field. Through this pathway, the NPLRC curriculum equips students with legal literacy skills such as foundational legal concepts, oral arguments, federal rules of evidence, research analysis, and legal writing. The NPLRC also ensures the students are able to reliably apply these skills.
Armed with this new skillset, students are prepared to enter the workforce as paralegals through our NPLRC certification or exclusive internships with one of our partner network organizations. For those prepared to go directly to college, we connect high school studies with universities with strong pre-law focus.
This program emphasizes the development of those at the crux of the educational process: our educators. These teacher development clinics are available to all educators teaching a pre-law pathway, equipping them with the confidence and expertise needed to effectively introduce legal concepts in the classroom. Through hands-on training, real-world case studies, and interactive workshops, educators gain a deeper understanding of trial advocacy, legal reasoning, and the broader justice system.
To ensure sustained impact beyond the clinics, we provide comprehensive supplements such as lesson plans, instructional guides, and ongoing support, allowing teachers to seamlessly integrate legal education into their curriculum and continue fostering legal literacy among their students.
